Caftan 2008: A Rock’n’Glamour Edition


Since 1996, Caftan has become the flagship event of Moroccan & Arabic Haute Couture. Designers confirmed and young talents are coming each year to provide a sublime show and launch new trends. A show not to be missed Saturday 03 May at 9:25 PM GMT live from Marrakech.

Topics relevant prodigious creative and innovative ideas, eight young talents selected for the pre-parade this year, bursting with subtlety. Each of these budding designers drew from his imagination and authenticity of traditional caftan for him inject a touch of modernity "mid-Rock, mid-Glam."

The jury committee composed of Aicha Zaimi Sakhri, director of the publication of "Women of Morocco" and co-founder of "Caftan," Marie-Christine Marek, director of drafting Paris Fashion Editions, Rachida Alaoui, historian of the Art, Rachid Andalousi, architect and Mohamed Sairi, director of Preservation, Innovation and Promotion Heritage within the Department of Craft had difficulty separating the young designers.

Each collection had a touch of magic: "Moorish Nights" Selma El Ouazzani Chahdi, "Wild Flowers" Kaoutar Laasmi, "The iron in all its splendour" Nardjes Bensaad, "legend of Aphrodite" Rkia Aït Blal, "C 'east Byzantium! "Fatna Farkh," The Brotherhood of alert and harmonious "Nouzha Bijeddiguen," Glamour "Amel Alaoui and" Letter to an unknown "Rafael Dorian.

Rafael Dorian has appealed to members of the jury with his "Letter to an unknown". A collection inspired by 20 years, both elegant and casual, who also married Velvet, Satin silk, and Muslin. We will unveil his collection alongside the large size of the Haute Couture-Moroccan Dahab Ben Aboud, Madiha Bennani, Réda Boukhlef and Meriem Benamour for Mahe-Mi, Amina Boussayri, Maria Chahdi Ouazzani, Nabil Dahani, Ihsane Ghailane, Lakhdar Simohamed, Zineb Lyoubi Idrissi and Abdelhanine Raouh.
